Two Thousand & Ten

This year has been an all time high, and an all time low.
I won't bore you with details. Thanks to everyone who purchased
a zine or dropped me a line. I've seen so many amazing films
this year I decided to hit you up with my top ten:

1. A Prophet
2. Mesrine Parts 1 & 2
3. Enter The Void
4. Down By Law
5. Shutter Island
6. Wings Of Desire
7. Fitzcarraldo
8. Goodbye Lenin
9. American Boy
10. The Killer Inside Me

Of course, there are so many more I've missed out. I've recently
managed to watch the entire Twin Peaks collection, which I might
add, was bliss. Looking forward to getting the next zine finished
and starting new projects. I leave you with a song from my
favourite album this year....

Vol. 1

Sloth Chronicles Vol. 1 is almost ready....
Hopefully it'll be finished in time for February,
which would make 3 zines in a year, which isn't bad
considering I only ever intended on making one.

On The 24th December

I received the most wonderful Christmas card this morning,
courtesy of Lindsay Fagin.

Stuck Inside Of Sankey With The Winter Blues Again

Snowed in with a pot of coffee and the Twin Peaks
collection...it isn't so bad after all.

Winter Wonderland

After waking up in a giant snow globe, I managed
to make it to the gallery for the Christmas Fair. As well
as manning my stall, I was on record spinning duties.
It was hip to the word hop. Cake was consumed and
Martha and her Vandellas rang out. Kate kindly gave me
this beautiful little sketch pad too. Time for coffee
and the only song worthy right now...

Chronicles Outtake

Cassel should never be considered an outtake.
I'm sure I'll find a place for him next time.

Christmas Fair

I've got my own stall at the Christmas Fair held
at Warrington's Bank Quay House Gallery this
Saturday, 18th December. There will be zines
o'plenty, so head on down!

III

After a weekend of films and getting some serious
drawing done, the 3rd installment is well under way.
I have changed it's name to Sloth Chronicles Vol.1
I urge you to watch this, this and this.

Decemberhead

Had one of the most pointless and longest commutes
home yesterday. Just found this in my jacket pocket.
For those who dig December....

The Man Of A Hundred Faces

"I don't like the laws and I don't want to be a slave
of the alarm clock my whole life."

- Jacques Mesrine

Mesrine, Milk & Cookie

Last day at the gallery. Marked the occasion with
my usual glass of milk & chocolate milk cookie. Also
featuring one of the many faces of Mesrine. By far
the best French film I've seen since A Prophet
2 days earlier...

HERZOG

''Herzog is a miserable, hateful, malevolent, avaricious,
money-hungry, nasty, sadistic, treacherous, cowardly creep.
He should be thrown alive to the crocodiles! An anaconda
should strangle him slowly! A poisonous spider should sting
him and paralyze his lungs! The most venomous serpent
should bite him and make his brain explode! No, panther
claws should rip open his throat, that would be much too
good for him! Huge red ants should piss into his lying eyes
and gobble up his balls and his guts! He should catch the
plague! Syphilis! Yellow fever! Leprosy! It's no use; the more
I wish him the most gruesome deaths, the more he haunts me.''

- Klaus Kinski

I think I might start watching films through a
kaleidoscope...

Bob Dylan vs. A.J.Weberman

Meet A.J.Weberman, the self proclaimed
Dylanologist. My Dylan obsession doesn't quite
hit the levels his did...

SERRY JEINFELD

Claude VI presents Serry Jeinfeld's debut

Coffee & Cigarettes

If I could ever walk into a film, I think this would be it.

EIN FILM VON WIM WENDERS

Finally watched Wings Of Desire. It doesn't get much
better than that. It's been two days and it's still haunting me.
Wim Wenders run for the hills because I'm coming to take
everything you've got.

Talkin' Saturday Mornin' Gallery Blues

After selling my soul to Martin Scorsese, I paid
tribute to two of the finest blues-men known to man,
Son House & Robert Johnson. A milk & cookie
break soon ensued.

Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues

Martin Scorsese's odyssey of blues will cost me
13 hours of my life....where do I sign? I've also
got my paws on the final two films of the Jarmusch
collection along with 4 hours of Vincent Cassel.

Right Around The Corner

Whilst on my travels today, I happened to pass by
this eerie looking farm house near where I live.
I've always wondered if it's occupied by anyone, as it
looks pretty disheveled. It looked particularly creepy
today, Chainsaw Massacre-esque. Maybe because
I watched The Orphanage last night.

K U B R I C K

Listen to this, viddy this, read this and enjoy
this....

Fresh Crop

Jim Jarmsuch successfully knocked me off my
feet last night with Ghost Dog. I wasn't sure what
to expect, but Jarmusch never lets me down. It
was like Tarantino directing Leon, with The RZA
conducting the orchestra.

The Voices Of The Spheres Take Over

Woyzeck was hauntingly beautiful. It has cemented
Kinski up there with De Niro and Day Lewis. Next up

Woyzeck

Good morning November. The Herzog odyssey continues
with Woyzeck. Merely 5 days after finishing Nosferatu,
Herzog shot the film in 18 days, with 4 days of editing. I've
come to terms with the fact that Klaus Kinski may very well
be the greatest actor that ever lived.

Sunday, 31 October 2010

Werner Herzog Kept Me Company

Another day in the gallery, with Werner Herzog for company.
I'm sure he'd be great to hang with, listening to stories about
plotting to kill Klaus Kinski and eating his own shoe.

A Steve Buscemi marathon has to take place in the
near future. This would be the line-up...
